Budget deliberations under way in the Florida Legislature may result in reductions to VPK funding that could cost ACPK almost $24,000. This would result in changes to our program that would seriously harm the quality of the education our children receive, or even affect our ability to offer VPK at all. Tuesday, March 23 is an important date. Committee meetings scheduled on that day will vote to decide VPK funding levels in the coming year's budget. Proposed changes, if enacted, would reduce money for VPK by 15%, but leave funding for K-12 education almost untouched. Please take a few minutes and contact your elected representatives in the Florida House and Senate and tell them this is an unacceptable way to balance the state's budget.
